This presentation will discuss the requirements of the Corporate Transparency Act of 2021 (“CTA”), and its implications on business owners, attorneys, and fiduciaries. In addition to providing an overview of the reporting requirements imposed by the CTA, the speaker will explore considerations and potential traps unique to estate planners and those involved with estate and trust administration.
ANDREW THOMPSON is a shareholder with the law firm of Zimmerman, Kiser & Sutcliffe, P.A. in Orlando. He concentrates his practice in the areas of estate planning, estate and trust administration, and probate and trust litigation. Andrew is a member of the Real Property, Probate and Trust Law Section of The Florida Bar where he is a Vice Chair for the RPPTL Section’s Estate and Trust Tax Planning Committee and an active member of several other committees. Andrew is a graduate of Class V of the Florida Fellows Institute of the American College of Trust and Estate Counsel (ACTEC), co-authored the latest edition of a chapter on “The Florida Trust Code” in Administration of Trusts in Florida (Florida Bar), sits on the Board of Directors of the Central Florida Estate Planning Council, and has been recognized in The Best Lawyers of America and as a Florida Super Lawyer. Andrew earned his undergraduate degree from the University of Michigan, his J.D. from Stetson University College of Law, and his LL.M. in Estate Planning from the University of Miami.
